We who are looking for the coming of our LORD and Messiah Jesus Christ are often mischaracterized as negative doom-and-gloomers.
You and I know that is far from the truth. We have the joy set before us anticipating our reunion
with loved ones and excitement that we will soon see Jesus face-to-face
and come back with Him to rule and reign on earth with Him.
That does bring joy to my heart, along with love for the One who washed
me from my sins that were many. I can relate to the woman who wept tears
over Jesus' feet and dried them with her hair -
“Therefore I
say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much.
But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” - Luke 7:47
Our gratitude for what He did for us and our eagerness to see Him and
bow before Him and cast our crowns at His feet is what really
characterizes the watchful saints. Even though Jesus had to endure the
cross for the joy set before Him, we too must endure the birth pangs and
many of us are affected by them. But we endure those things knowing
that the joy of the LORD returning and setting up His Kingdom is the end
result.
So with that in mind - today is a day to be happy
knowing His return is so near. So I've posted a happy song that we can
sing with true joy, unlike those who mis-sing it at the Mardis Gras.
Maranatha!
"Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to
be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now
for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold
temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than
of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found
unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom
having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet
believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory" - 1 Pet.
