I am grieved in my spirit this morning after spending an entire day yesterday at the event, Parliament of the World's Religions. Just sitting and people-watching at that place broke my heart. The blindness of those empty eyes; the appearance of lost souls looking for acceptance instead of what they really need, deliverance.
I've never seen such a variety of religious garb: saffron robes, men in clerical skirts, women wearing pointed witch hats, old smelly men in turbans of every variety, feminists with men's haircuts and flattened chests, Indian feathers and necklaces of superstitious amulets hanging down -- rosaries worn around the necks and even spaced out guys in aluminum suits. Lost humanity -- earth dwellers, ripe for judgment.
And the theme of the event, "Reclaiming the Heart of Our Humanity" deifies humans and leaves the true God, His Son, and the true children of God out. All the manmade religions want to join together as one -- all are accepted, except true believers they refer to through clenched teeth as Christian fundamentalists. We are their perceived enemy and the power that holds them back. We are excluded from their inclusiveness -- which is how it should be. It's just amazing that they collectively recognize that, to their own demise.
I can really see God's mercy to mankind that He will soon give them what they want -- a humanistic messiah that tells them how great they are. Too bad for them he is the antichrist. They reject the true King Jesus, but God will give them a king for a season of their own liking. But when he turns on them, many will then turn to the true King of kings and lose their life to save it -- through the fire.
How many can be reached through the fog of deception? A few perhaps. Pray for us who are there as lights in the darkness -- that the LORD would use us to pluck some brands from the fire.
Every knee shall bow!!
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our God;"
-- Is 61:1-2a
"Come, and let us return to the LORD;
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.
Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth."
- Hos 6:1-3
