February 10, 2012 Show - Paul Crouch’s Granddaughter Exposes Corruption at TBN

Brittany Crouch Koper
Trinity Broadcasting Network’s president and founder Paul Crouch Sr.’s policy of putting family members in positions of power at the largest “Christian” TV network in the world may have come back to bite him. His granddaughter, Brittany Crouch Koper, who served as TBN’s chief financial officer, is accusing TBN “of unlawfully distributing charitable assets worth more than $50 million to the company’s directors.”

Koper filed a federal lawsuit against two TBN lawyers, Douglass S. Davert and David C. Loe, who reportedly instructed her to “shut up” about what she discovered in her position as financial officer. The complaint says that the lawyers intimidated Ms. Koper into returning her own perks which included her house, car, jewelry, life insurance and home furnishings. Failure to do so would result in jail time for her, the attorneys allegedly threatened. According to Koper, a false lawsuit had been filed against her and her husband Michael, also a TBN employee, charging them with misappropriation of funds, in October, 2011, in an attempt to stop her whistle blowing. That case was closed by the plaintiffs after she complied with the demands.

Coincidentally, that same month Koper’s father, Paul Crouch Jr, resigned his position from TBN as Chief of Staff, to “pursue other ministry opportunities.” His hasty retreat baffled many people. Why would he leave TBN as second in command next to hid dad to take a position at a small minority-owned network?

“Observers have often wondered how the Crouches can afford multiple mansions on both coasts, a $50 million jet and chauffeurs,” said Koper’s attorney, Tymothy MacLeod to the Orange County Register who broke the story of Koper’s lawsuit on February 9, 2012. That same day, Paul Crouch Sr. and his younger son Matthew Crouch made veiled threats at anyone who would try to come against TBN.

“There have been a few attempts in the TBN history to upset TBN, to stop TBN,” said Matt Crouch to his father on Behind the Scenes. “You know, there have been a few fools in the 39-year history...and you know what - any attempt at stopping TBN -- they have no idea who they’re actually pushing into the corner. You and mom get pushed in a corner - God help you. That’s a lesson I’ve learned from you, seriously.”

“God help anyone who would try to get in the way of TBN, which was God’s plan,” Paul Crouch responded. “I have attended the funeral of at least two people who tried.”

That threat should be taken seriously when you consider Brittany Koper’s allegations in her complaint that her Uncle Matthew brandished a firearm to threaten her.

Matthew Crouch “began tapping the firearm he had brought to the meeting and asked Ms. Koper what she thought would happen when she wrote a memo to the board critical of Matthew Crouch’s financial improprieties. Matthew Crouch continued tapping the gun he was holding to ensure that Ms. Koper recognized the lethal threat being made.”

Several years ago, someone who was suing TBN for plagiarism told this reporter that after filing suit against them, her brake lines were cut on her car and she was being tailed wherever she went. If these allegations are true, then TBN cannot point the finger at God for their protection. They seem to be taking matters into their own hands.

Lewdness at TBN

Another strange twist to this story is the accusation that defendant David Loe sexually harassed Koper on more than one occasion when she was working with him. The complaint says,

“Defendant Loe touched Ms. Koper in an overtly sexual manner repeatedly, told Ms. Koper that he was sexually aroused, made lewd and derogatory comments about engaging in sexual acts with Ms. Koper, and offered illegal drugs to Ms. Koper, who was defendant Loe’s client in that matter and others. In a business meeting, Mr. Loe made repeated remarks about Ms. Koper’s breast enhancement surgery, reached across the table in front of witnesses, and grabbed Ms. Koper’s breasts to (as Mr. Loe put it) ‘see if they feel real.’ After Ms. Koper repeatedly refused defendant Loe’s sexual advances, defendant Loe became cruel, vindictive, and malicious toward Ms. Koper.”

The Register reported “ that Koper is readying documentation regarding her charges and will submit a package to the Internal Revenue Service for its review.” Time will tell if Koper will follow up on this brave act or succumb to the intimidation that, she says in her complaint, has made her physically ill with “loss of appetite, physical weakness, nausea, headaches, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, stomach and digestive problems, malnutrition, hair loss, severe insomnia, and suicidal thoughts requiring counseling and medication.”

This is not the first time TBN has been rocked with scandal. In 2004, Paul Crouch Sr. settled out of court, paying out nearly half a million dollars, to keep another former employee quiet regarding an alleged 1996 homosexual fling between the two of them.

The Koper case has the potential of bringing even more disgrace, not only to TBN, but to the name of Christianity in the eyes of the onlooking world. It makes the PTL scandal look like a Sunday School picnic.

Brittany Koper could not be reached for comment and the defendants did not return messages left at their law offices.

  1. Articles like this are a VERY good reason to simply find a GOOD, BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH and give money to the mission of spreading the Gospel (as in 1 Cor 15:1-3) Not whatever Paul Crouch wants to read in his monthly bank statement! One day, he WILL answer for that! It is the HEIGHT of arrogance for him to think that such Avarice is GOD's plan! These guys don't FEED their sheep, they FLEECE them...to the last dollar!

  2. Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.” 2 Corinthians 6:17

Anyone who is still feeding at this polluted well since the early 90's is dangerously, fatally, terminally deceived and does not know the voice of the Lord Jesus !

  3. Come on, Marcel! Let's not blow our brains out! It's simple, those who have violated the law need to be arrested, prosecuted, and sent to prison! I mean, REALLY! Re-read your post!(dangerously, fatally, terminally)? NICE WORK! REALLY?! How would you know who's deceived or who isn't? May I call you Jesus? One last huge - REALLY!!!!

    1. Sounds like something a worldly pagan would say.

The blind who follow the blind don't know they are deceived.

No edification no wisdom imparted just the rantings of one snared in sin who likes his fatal dose of easy, apostate, corrupted, flesh centered false religion.

Time for the apostate's to repent comes to an end as the Bridegroom closes the door on them - Matthew 25.

  4. Oh firestar725. So mis-guided you are in your attack on Marcel. Get thee behind him Satan. He's doing his job as a faithful follower of Jesus. And his selection from 2 Corinthians says it all so clearly, especially in these times. He is showing he actually cares about the fate of his brothers and sisters in Jesus' name. So who are you really? No, REALLY!!!

    Matthew 7
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

    Matthew 12
33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

    2. Paul Crouch, does this include the man you had a sexual affair with for 3 years? Did you get back the $450,000 you gave him to keep quiet after he went public with your homosexual affair?

  6. Of course, there isn't a thing about any of this that ought to come as a surprise to any discerning Christian. But the sad news is, most Crouch supporters will simply ignore the whole thing. God is faithful and He will eventually expose all. The question is whether people will be willing to see the Truth.

  7. Hopefully the parties involved will be proven guilty, judged by their peers and punished. As for TBN, let's hope that a wholesale restructure of the organization happens. Gone are the fakes like Joel Olsten and Benny Hinn (theologically weak) while keeping the likes of Perry Stone who actually teaches and encourages with real facts and more traditional doctrine. If TBN won't change, then I suggest VOE to separate themselves from TBN. People, you are to blame for propping up ministries like these. Giving in to their begging for funds when you should have been supporting local ministries where there is greater oversight. The prosperity message only helps those who peddle it. It is time where we call out the fake Christians and their heretical ministries and start being the real Christians who can minister to those around us in a far more effective way.We follow Jesus, not man, not celebrity ministry personalities. As much as I really like Perry Stone, He is just a servant of God like I am and we all are not immune to temptation and skewed doctrine. Church, wake up and grow up! We are acting like a young teenage self centered girl. We have not developed the qualities yet that Jesus is looking for in His bride. OK I'm done ranting. I pray that God will execute justice and mercy where He chooses regarding TBN. I also pray that God will direct us to a closer walk with Him so we are not so easily distracted by Christian activity that takes away from God's glory. When an institution becomes self perpetuating, the people it serves become secondary.

    1. There is one problem with Perry. He is partners with Glenn Beck who is Mormon. He admits it. I love listening to Stone. But when i found this out....I am TOTALLY done listening to ANYONE who calls themselves a preacher on TV. The Media and Cable TV are controlled by the elites. The One World government controls them. They say who or what can be on TV. They will put anyone on that supports their agenda and who will help brainwash people, especially Christians, into a false security and false teachings. New Age/Satanic teachings that the Elites believe. So help their cause. This is just what I see and what I think is happening. If Satan can come as an angel of light....no more needs to be said!

  8. Okay. I don't really have time to get wrapped up in a "dialogue"...but I must say a few things in case a non-believer reads some of these comments and so entrenches themselves in the belief that to be a Christian means you are uneducated and unreasonable.
Of course the truth needs to come out and any responsible party held accountable. But Marcel....everyone that watches the network is fatally, terminally deceived? I'm with Firestar725 ....REALLY???
Does this mean that every preacher on the network is an emissary of the devil? So you and the other poster (I believe they are the same person anyway...really you call yourself "Jaaweh" ? BOLD buddy....next you'll be serving Koolaid to the masses) stand in judgement of everyone at the network and every preacher on the many networks. Wow...and in all these 25+ years as a bible studying/believing believer living the straight life...I thought that was the job of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Just pray that the truth come out and the correct culprit s nabbed.
Also Art4dsoul , I used to hear negative stuff about this or that preacher/believer ...until I decided to listen to what they had to say for myself...and guess what? I found out that I never heard Benny Hinn say anything that did not line up with scripture and that I actually experienced the power of God in his meetings/knew people who had been healed and everything lined up with scripture.
Can you say why you think he is theologically unsound(please tell if you do) or is this something you heard someone else say who does not believe God can heal today etc? I'm using him as an example to say I would encourage you to investigate individuals on your own instead of listening to a bunch of (mostly) jealous haters who wonder why their own ministries are dead and who are often a tool of the enemy trying to tear the church apart.
    ok that's it...i can't write anymore on a phone!

    3. @mellenvo

I am a humble and faithful servant of The Father YAAHWEH, The Son YAAHSHUA, and The Holy Ghost, thus my user name represents that service. It most certainly does not mean I'm framing my self as God The Father. It means that I look to The Father and The Son in ALL things. You're vain dialogue not once refers to scripture, only your strange opinions about things. Look there-in to The Word of God and find the answers. Read Marcel's and my post again and stand in fellowship with Christians who speak THE TRUTH. If you don't think that preacher's can and will lead their flocks astray and those sheep do indeed become dangerously, fatally, terminally deceived, especially in these times, then you are with Satan, deceived and a deceiver.

    4. I just want to say to all here that I think it's important for all of us as believers to remember what Ecclesiastes said so much in his book, All is vanity. I'm working to understand the depth of what that truly means. And the fact is that we don't want to see anyone not saved in Jesus. I often think of Jesus' words when he says, the last will be first, and the first will be last. Or how if we have our 99 sheep and there is one which is not with us, how we go after and find that one sheep which is lost. And true humility isn't acting like I (as a human, a sinner) can even come close to understanding the truth of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. And I don't want to forget that our primary job is to speak the truth with love and compassion. And to love our neighbor and pray and fast for all of God's children. I'm horrible at the fasting part. I need to work on that. And I'm working on the patience that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus. Glory be to The Father, and to The Son, and to The Holy Ghost. God bless, in Jesus' name.

  9. I agree that no matter who is in error major or minor, that in love, the error needs to be addressed. I am not against anyone but I do understand when an organization becomes self perpetuating that the needs of the people are secondary. Many of the ministers and miniseries started out with God led intentions. If it weren't for Paul Crouch and Pat Robertson, we would not have the successful Christian broadcasting that we have today. So props to the founders. But in our world where success is measured in dollars and empires, the simple fact that the main reason why the ministry got started gets lost. When the ministry machine needs to be fed, unfortunately those in leadership make bad decisions that spiral the situation deeper into despair. Keep in mind that sin will take you farther than you want to go and cost you more than you want to pay. these ministries did not go out of their way to act deceitfully, the environment they created took over and dictated the wrong decisions.I am suggesting that ministries scale back their operations, correct their theological error and reboot with the same vision when they first started, these ministries would be busy saving souls and not going to court. Jesus spoke to one of the 7 churches in Revelations and told them verbatim "the work you are doing is good but you lost your first love" Case in point, When Jesus sent out the 70 disciples 2x2. they had success and the kingdom of God was moved forward. So now, who were these 70? what were their names, what ministries did they run? Don't know? That is exactly my point. Ministry seems to work best when it is done anonymously and God get all the glory.

  11. If one reads and studies the Old Testament you will find Israel committing one sin after another
Yet God still was able to bring Christ into the world through them. So let TBN and the world or whoever sin their sins God will still bring to pass his word. For Matthew Crouch' s information it is he that is in great danger of God's judgment, not the donors or television viewers.
